It's a rainy Saturday here in SoCal...though before the rain started coming down it was quite pleasant outside, so I took advantage and stepped out for an early walk before the droplets started. As I wandered along the streets in my little community I started noticing things around me that I appreciate in the everyday of life. Do you do that? Stop and smell the roses is not just a cliche...it's a vital practice when we slow down and notice those sweet, simple little things in our daily lives that make us happy.
That got me thinking...since today is my blog writing day...
why not share a few of my favorites with you.
The first sightings of spring are the African Daisies that a popping up everywhere!
I always do a once around our dog park, even though our little dog isn't with us anymore...
it makes me happy to remember her up here.
I keep little vases on the kitchen window sill and fill them with wild flowers I collect on my morning walks...reminds me all day that beauty is all around us...
you just gotta go out and find it!
So excited that the tiny Wisteria cutting I took from my Dad's house before we sold it 10 years ago...is huge and in full spring bloom right now!
Back home to get cleaned up for the day...and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't notice and LOVE my Koi vessel sinks, even after 10 years of having them put in. Best part...
I got both of them, fittings and all, still new in the box...for $20 at a garage sale!
Best Buy I even made!
This one's kinda silly...but I'm so appreciative my artist buddy and wonderful esthetician friend Susan Brook, for finally being the one to get me on a "take care of your skin routine!" Many have tried and failed...Susan has me loving and dedicated to aging gracefully.
I love that my guy Jim let me take over the living room in our little tin house and turn it into my art studio...especially love being home in the studio on a rainy Saturday.
I'm pretty happy that in this day and age my son in Lyon France and I can
go on Zoom and take a portrait painting class together!
I'm very happy and grateful that three pieces of my art left my studio this week
to make it to their three new homes...super appreciative of that!
I always look forward to joining my studio mates back in the F1VEart Studio & Gallery to continue working on the art I have on my easel.
Not much more to add to that...but then the days not over yet!
Hope you are enjoying your mornings and noticing what makes them special.
